The Ennis Brothers are an award winning Irish country music duo built around the melodic harmonies of twin brothers Matthew and Owen Ennis. They grew up listening to the timeless country sound of their grandparents favourite artist, The Everly Brothers.
Along with The Everlys, songs from their favourite country music artists including Garth Brooks, Brad Paisley and more recently Lady A also helped shape the Ennis Brothers sound today.
They both started writing songs and learning guitar in their teens. Aged 15, they performed on television on a show called 'Class Act' on RTE singing one of their favourite Everly Brothers songs 'Bye Bye Love'.
In 2018 they were runner's up in Nathan Carter's 'Search For A Country Star' competition, winning a support slot on Nathan Carter's 'Born For The Road' concert tour performing at venues such the Theatre Royal in Waterford and The TLT in Drogheda.
Kicking off 2019, The Ennis Brothers released their debut single ‘Wake Up Little Susie’ in January which went straight in at #1 on the Irish iTunes Country Music. Matt and Owen then supported Derek Ryan on his 'TEN' concert tour in venues such as INEC in Killarney, The Cork Opera House and The Royal Theatre in Castlebar.
From headlining the Downtown Country Radio stage at the Balmoral Show, supporting Cliona Hagan for her Dancing With The Stars Afterparty Dance at the Gleneagle Hotel to performing alongside the likes of Nathan Carter, Derek Ryan and Michael English at festivals such as Cowboys and Heroes and the Celbridge Country Music Festival to name but a few, the Ennis Brothers have had a very busy number of years.
The Ennis Brothers have released 5 singles to date, all debuting straight in at #1 on the Irish iTunes chart. These singles include, 'Louisiana Saturday Night', Let's Go To Vegas' and originals song 'New Good Old Times'. Their latest release 'Goodbye Dawn' is a new original song co-written with Derek Ryan.
The Ennis Brothers started 2020 with a bang, picking up the award for ‘BEST NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR’ at the Sunday World Country Music awards in January. The Ennis Brothers were a part of the Late Late Show Country Special on RTE performing with The Three Amigos along with a host of other country music stars. Featuring on TG4's new series of 'Opry Le Daniel' performing a special duet with Daniel O'Donnell. Their latest single release is an original song co-written with Derek Ryan called 'Goodbye Dawn' which was released on November 24th debuting straight in at #1 on the main iTunes chart and #1 on the Irish iTunes Country chart.
